What are the characteristics of steel structure building?

1. High strength and light weight

Steel has high strength and elastic modulus. Good toughness and high reliability

The steel is suitable for bearing impact and dynamic load and has excellent seismic performance. Its internal structure is uniform and almost isotropic. The actual working performance accords with the calculation theory. Therefore, the reliability of steel structure is high.

3. High degree of mechanization

Steel structural members are easy to manufacture in the factory and assemble on site. The mechanical manufacturing of steel structure components has high precision, high production efficiency, fast assembly speed and short construction period. Steel structure is one of the most industrialized structures.

Because the steel structure is welded structure, it can be completely sealed and made into high pressure vessels, large oil pools and pressure pipes with good air tightness and water tightness.

5 steel structure is heat resistant, but not fire resistant

When the temperature is lower than 150 ℃, the properties of the steel change little. Therefore, the steel structure is suitable for high temperature workshop, but when the surface radiation of the structure is about 150 ℃, the heat insulation plate should be used for protection. When the temperature is between 300 ℃ and 400 ℃, the strength and elastic modulus of the steel decrease significantly, and the strength tends to zero at about 600 ℃. For buildings with special fire protection requirements, refractory materials must be used to improve the fire resistance rating.

6. Poor corrosion

Steel is easy to rust in humid and corrosive environment. General steel to rust, galvanized or painted, and regular maintenance. Special measures should be taken to enhance the corrosion resistance of offshore platform structure in seawater.
